In a match that “definitely looked like a round one game” the Breakers were challenged by the Blues before they ran over the top of the hosts.
“They were well and truly in it and we probably skipped away in the last 15-20 minutes or so,” Kemp said.
“It wasn’t too comfortable.”
Kemp said there were several standout players for the Breakers, but they lacked the finesse to work as a team.
“Individually we were quite good,” he said.
“Chris Piper was outstanding, as was Richie Roberts and Mick Marshall. Dan Dumas was also good.”
The Breakers addressed their first-half issues at the break and came out with an improved mindset in the second stanza.
“It’s been six months since some of the boys have played footy so there was a bit of ring rust there,” Kemp said.
