Lily is six years old and has beautiful blue eyes. She is quiet in nature and would suit an older family that will give her time to settle. Lily will be fine to rehome on her own as she is happy in her own company.
Casper is four years old and has orange eyes and an outgoing nature. He is a solid boy with an affectionate personality and his new owner will need to help him stay at a healthy weight and avoid snacks for him during the day.
As Lily and Casper are both white in colour they will need to be indoor cats to protect them from sun cancer in the future.
They both are desexed, micro-chipped, vet checked, vaccinated, flea treated, wormed, litter trained and will cost $100 each.
According to healthfitnesrevolution.com the Top 3 health benefits of owning a cat are: Reduced stress and anxiety - Owning a cat can be soothing and trigger calming chemicals in the body, decreasing stress and anxiety levels. A simple petting session is often enough to relax owners and distract them from other worries.
Decreases risk of stroke - Studies show cat owners are less likely to be at risk for a stroke than any other pet owner.
Therapeutic benefits - The calming effect of owning a cat triggers the release of oxytocin, the hormone known to induce feelings of love and trust. People going through difficult times report that talking to their pet helps work out their feelings, as it is often easier to talk to something that won’t respond and can’t judge.
Our cats are housed at the RSPCA shelter at 10 Karungi Crescent. The shelter is open six days a week from 10am until 3.30pm and closed on Tuesdays and public holidays. Telephone 6581 0380. All RSPCA animals can be viewed on www.adoptapet.com.au and click onto the Port Macquarie site.
