The Port Macquarie Days for Girls team staged a fundraising morning tea on April 21.
Days for Girls aims to empower females around the globe by providing sustainable feminine hygiene solutions and health education.
The morning tea raised almost $100 towards Days for Girls feminine hygiene kit items.
Supporters at the morning tea enjoyed scones with jam and cream, gluten-free chocolate cookies and cupcakes.
The leader of the Port Macquarie Days for Girls team, Emma Heath, said the morning tea was the first fundraiser for the newly-formed Days for Girls team in Port Macquarie.
The group is seeking more volunteers.
“There’s a lot of crafty people in Port Macquarie who are quite good sewers,” Ms Heath said.
Curves Port Macquarie members are also supporting the cause with members pitching in with their sewing skills and donating items for the kits.
Days for Girls provides sustainable feminine hygiene kits for girls and women in countries without adequate access to supplies.
The global network has provided more than 640,000 women and girls with access to feminine hygiene.
