Groups across the local government area will receive $132,610 in grant assistance through Port Macquarie-Hastings Council’s Community Grants 2016-2017 round two and event sponsorship round two.
Make a Difference is among the successful groups.
The group will receive $10,000 towards its fundraising for an Orange Sky Laundry van on the Mid-North Coast.
Port United Soccer Club will get $6000 for a new awning and Hastings Country Music Association will put $7452 towards new equipment.
Other recipients include Friends of Mrs York’s Garden with $6500 for a staircase and Rotary Club of Port Macquarie Sunrise which will receive $10,000 for a community pathway.
Five recipients were successful for event sponsorship including the Beer and Cider Festival, Ekam Yoga Festival and Bago Bluff Mountain Bike Marathon.
The council allocated $112,610 in community grants and $20,000 in event sponsorship.
A council report said the second round of the annual community grant process was once again very competitive.
Event Sponsorship Program applicants are required to demonstrate that the proposed event is either a driver of significant overnight visitation or has the potential to grow to major event status with a significant economic impact.
