Brian Sams shot a three under par 68 to win A grade with 41 stableford points from his handicap of two. He got off to a great start being two under par after three holes. He made birdies at the 1st, 3rd, 9th and 11th holes and his only blemish was a bogey at the 17th hole. Mick Swift was the A grade runner up with 39.
Andrew Hingston won C grade with 44 points, the best stableford score of the day. Playing from a handicap of 31 he made four four pointers and five threes. He also had two wipes. The other placegetters in C grade were Brian Harrison and Franco Bortoli, both with 39. In B grade John Proberts was best with 40 while Alan Organ and Les Murphy each made 39 and Donovan Roberts 38.
The ball competition went down to 34 points and the nearest to the pins were won by Roy Wilkinson, Matt Williams, Terry Davis and Cliff Toms.
