He signed up to the F45 Port Macquarie eight week challenge and stuck to his guns, training every day and eating no processed foods. The results are astonishing.
When the Port News began following Ken’s progress, he weighed in at 100.5 kilograms.
Not only was Ken looking to lose weight and improve physically, but change his mentality and lifestyle for both himself and his family.
That change included a lot of meal preparation, training every day at the gym and not giving into food temptations.
Easier said than done, the challenge proves anyone can stick to a plan and see the benefits at the end, as Ken has done.
“After sticking to the meal plan and training with Eric and Christo (F45 owners) everyday for eight weeks my final weigh in was a great feeling,” he said.
“Words to describe feelings I’ve gone through over the past two months would include tough, disciplined, hard work, hangry (hungry-angry), driven, excited, rewarding, supportive, exhausted, early mornings and clean eating.”
It reaped rewards, with the results showing a loss of 13.8kg, and his body fat percentage dropped from 23 from 27 (fat was 27kg and now 20kg).
“A massive thanks to Eric and Christo for being great trainers, challenging and pushing me to get the best result I physically could,” he said.
“The functional team training environment at F45 makes the training more enjoyable and makes you work your butt off. These blokes go above and beyond.
“My supportive family and friends were also key, especially my family who put up with me during my time consuming food preparation, my hangry moods and training focused times.”
