The Men’s Division One Waratah League has a week’s break which while coach Mark Champion said wasn’t ideal, he was far from unimpressed.
“We’ve certainly had worse and better runs over the years,” he said.
“But it would have been worse if we were on a six-game winning streak and then we had to have a week off.”
The Dolphins up and down start to the season could be blamed on injuries or having two byes in the first five rounds.
However, it does mean they will have a chance to create some momentum once the season settles down.
“In this circumstance it’s probably not the worst time for us to sit out for a week,” Champion said.
“It gives our injured players a chance to recover.”
They will return to the court on April 8.
