On March 25 Tahlia was announced as one of three NSW State Finalist in the 2017 MAXIM Australian Swimwear Model of the Year.
There were 28 other women from NSW who were competing as part of the state title.
The grand final of the competition will be based on the Gold Coast on May 5.
The women will be judged in different categories including swimwear outfits, photography and fantasy costumes.
Tahlia is 19-years-old and works in Port Macquarie as an administration assistant.
She also works part time on Instagram as an influencer and ambassador with brands.
Tahlia dreams of becoming a full time model and social influencer.
She wants to influence and motivate women to be the best person they can be.
“Being comfortable in your own skin is what really makes you beautiful,” the 19-year-old said.
Being a model is something Tahlia has aspired to be since she was four-years-old.
“That’s when I did my first catwalk,” she said.
Tahlia said while she has had plenty of practice walking in high heels in competition it can still be difficult.
“When going down the catwalk you do tend to really overthink your walking,” she said.
Tahlia said her preparation for the competition is really hard work.
She trains six days a week and her diet consists of lots of vegetables with lean meats.
Tahlia said it’s important to go into the national competition with the right attitude.
“I’m not there to win but just to have a bit of fun and gain some valuable experience,” she said.
In the future Tahlia would love to pursue her model career while working overseas.
