An exciting series of events and activities will take place in the Port Macquarie-Hastings region.
Youth Week events are planned by young people, for young people, and are all about inclusion, opportunities, creativity and fun.
It is an opportunity for young people to express their ideas and views, act on issues that impact their lives, showcase their talents, celebrate their contribution to the community and create and enjoy activities and events.
This year’s Youth Week has a theme of 'Get Involved, Be Heard, Make a Difference', and the Hastings Youth Advisory Council (YAC) has pulled out all of the stops, volunteering months of their time to organise and present events that will engage and excite.
Events include the region youth music conference, a youth opportunities festival, a skateboard competition, an Instagram photo competition, library events, waves and melodies festival and a scavenger hunt.
All events are free and although youth focused, everyone is welcome.
Youth week 2017 is organised by the Hastings Youth Advisory Council (YAC). The YAC provides a forum for young people to have a say on community issues that impact them and their peers, and to provide input into council's youth policy development.
