This $70,000 project is possible due to the generosity of Triple M’s Give Me 5 For Kids campaign along with the support of the Tacking Point Lions Club and Woolworths.
Tacking Point Lions Club president, Rob Bruce, said the project will not only provide children with an occupational therapy/physiotherapy assessment courtyard, but allow the hospital staff and parents the opportunity to observe and assess a child’s recovery and progress in a natural and safe playing environment.
The courtyard will add a splash of colour and excitement to the children’s ward, with the addition of a slide, trampoline, climbing equipment, balls and a soft fall flooring to promote safety.
The courtyard is expected to open at the end of June and is part of the occupational therapy/physiotherapy departments on the ground floor of the hospital facility.
