It was held with a light southerly blowing with a strong run-out tide which was boosted by the fresh still in the river.
The catamaran division was back to better numbers with the travellers back home.
Frank O’Rourke on Dino was first on yardstick ahead of Tony Kuhn on Stella, Rob Barwick on Drift, and Dave Winter on Spica.
The catamarans finished in the same order on handicap, though only 30 seconds separated Dino and Stella for the first two places.
Simon and Elsa Gandy and Jake Kordemaa in Voyager won on yardstick with Jeff Walsh and Sharon Carney in Big Bang second, with Phil, Zander, and Blake Lillehagen in Elmo third.
Michael Jones in Simonlaser was unfortunately forced to retire with rudder problems.
Voyager took the handicap win ahead of Big Bang, who was only 10 seconds ahead of Deep Purple, who was then only 34 seconds ahead of Elmo.
Next weekend is a double header, with the morning race 10 of the Summer series starting at 11am.
A barbecue lunch and the sixth club championship race starts at 1pm (due to the start of daylight savings). Kelly Miller is rostered on duty.
