Fortunately, the Hastings River District Cricket Association has a provision for a spare weekend, to allow the First Grade Grand Final to be played next weekend.
However, lower grade matches cannot be re-scheduled, as the council has booked the grounds to prepare them for the winter sport season.
The HRDCA First Grade Grand Final will now be played on Saturday April 1 at 1pm and Sunday April 2 at 10am. Daylight Savings ends on Sunday April 2.
(1) Macquarie v. (2) Wauchope at Wayne Richards Oval.
If this fixture is washed out, then Macquarie will be declared this year’s Premiers.
Because the HRDCA lower grade grand finals are washed out, the highest-placed team in each grade has been declared this year’s premier.
The results are:
- Second Grade – Bonny Hills
- Third Grade – Port Pirates Mutineers
- Fourth Grade – Port City Leagues Magpies
The presentation night is on Friday March 31 at the Westport Club, 6.30pm for 7pm.
Special guest is Alex Blackwell, Australian Women’s Rep and World Cup Winner).
