That rescue was one of 111 tasks the local SES unit completed during the weekend’s severe weather event.
Spokesperson Kevin Sherwood said SES volunteers walked the people out ‘from a potentially dangerous situation’.
“Whenever you drive in floodwater there is always the potential for danger,” he said.
“Don’t walk, drive or ride through floodwaters.
“We also had support of a helicopter that was in the area too.”
Mr Sherwood said the call outs were mostly roof jobs although there was some sandbagging required and diverting groundwater runoff.
“At the moment, we are right up to date with our tasks,” he said.
“While the weather is starting to settle down, there could be another east coast low forming by the end of the week. But anything could change, of course.
“Considering that we received over 200mm of rain, I think our area really did get off lightly.”
Crews also attended a tree down at Lighthouse Beach.
Mr Sherwood said SES was on Sunday also called to assist with the removal of a large log that had snared in the cable of the Settlement Point ferry.
“We were about to launch to assist when the ferry operator managed to free the log,” he said.
Fifty local SES members along with back-up crews from Tamworth and Glen Innes had operated 24 hours during the deluge.
The SES spokesperson praised the local volunteers for their efforts during the weekend.
“We are all volunteers with full time jobs and complete this work without any type of recognition for the majority of the time,” he said.
Meanwhile a helicopter was used to drop food and supplies to several properties west of Port Macquarie.
Call the SES on 132500 or in an emergency call triple-0.
