The Conservatorium Mid North Coast (CMNC) chairperson Brian Corrigan says the board is disappointed the Department of Education has not paid funding which was due to be received on February 28.

The payment owed to the CMNC amounts to $160,000 and has been outstanding for nearly three months.
Mr Corrigan said the Local Member for Port Macquarie is now in contact with the department to try and uncover why the funding was not paid.
On February 9 the CMNC board met with representatives from the department and the Local Member for Port Macquarie.
Mr Corrigan said at the meeting a representative from the department agreed to pay the money owed to CMNC on February 28.
The $160,000 is for services provided by CMNC to the Mid North Coast community between July and December 2016 under the Regional Conservatorium Grants Program.
At the meeting the department also requested that a new Board be established. An election of the new Board will be in April 2017.
The terms and conditions agreed to by the CMNC Board will allow all people with an interest in music residing in the Taree, Great Lakes and Port Macquarie areas to set the future directions of the CMNC.
A spokesperson said on February 24 the department looks forward to supporting a renewed and vibrant Conservatorium that provides access to all community stakeholders and in particular supports music education for NSW public schools.
