The Port News started following Ken’s progress as he embarked on an eight week challenge of clean eating and exercise through the F45 Port Macquarie ‘define’ challenge.
Ken said it has been a tough yet rewarding three weeks.
“The first two weeks of the challenge were called spring training. The diet here was about detoxing my body, enhancing kidney and liver functions and the removal of any retained fluid,” he said.
“Week one was extremely tough from the diet side of things. The training was as it has been for past few months, but I felt real hungry for the first five days.”
Despite these feelings, he soldiered on and after weighing in at week one he had lost four kilograms.
“In week two I was much better and I was not feeling as hungry,” he said.
“I was still missing my routine morning coffee but I held strong with the diet routine and my morning training sessions at 5:15am.”
Weigh in results at the end of the second week showed another 2kg loss for a total of 6kg.
At the end of last week, that jumped up to 7.5kg lost in three weeks.
“The best thing over the last three weeks has been the support,” Ken said.
“Firstly support from my wife and family and from the F45 Port Mac trainers Eric and Christo, and fellow training family.
“Eric and Christo are also doing the challenge and so they are sharing the same journey that we are going through and can relate to how we are feeling.
“It just goes to show that if you put in the effort, you eat well and you exercise the results will come.”
The Port News will touch base with Ken in another few weeks, before reporting on the final results of the challenge.
