On Saturday, playing against Port City Leagues Magpies in day two, the Josh Hyde-led Macquarie Hotel spent some time with the bat and made 270 to lead by 66 runs. Hyde made 110 to lead the way.
They managed to bowl Port City all out for 64, winning outright and earning maximum points, which secures their spot in the grand final.
“To post 270 is one of the highest scores of the years so far in one particular innings,” Hyde said.
Ethan Hyde was the best of the bowlers, taking four wickets, and Brendan Badenoch impressed with three.
At Andrews Park, Wauchope easily accounted for the Port Panther Pirates.
Wauchope took a 217 run lead and went on with it when it came time to bowl.
