“I was more then happy with the way we performed,” Grant said. “Maitland played 28 or 30 players, and our blokes were only a squad of 20.”
Ben Kirkland, Blake Wells and Liam Potter all scored for the home side. Grant said he could not fault his players commitment and enthusiasm.
“It was fantastic. We tried out a few combinations but you do that in a trial,” he said. “I have a few ideas on where I’m going to put guys, but I will get a better look in the pre-season comp. There are still a few positions opened.”
Maitland were well drilled, they controlled the ruck and did an excellent job at shutting down multiple chances created by the Sharks.
“For me, it’s all positive. We can build on everything we did and it’s something we can work with,” Grant said.
