This year the club wants to continue to grow their numbers in the Wauchope community.
"We've got a new aim this year where we are hoping to grow and develop our junior player base,” Pursehouse said.
“In conjunction with our already established junior teams which play in Port Macquarie, we are hosting our own junior hockey competition within the Wauchope community.
"We pride ourselves on being a family-friendly club with our history within the Wauchope community and we want to be able to provide a different sporting alternative to the area.”
Pursehouse said 10 to 15 years ago their junior girls competition was very strong.
“What we want to do again is get Wauchope kids playing in Wauchope,” he said.
“The easiest way to do that is have a competition here.”
Pursehouse said the club encouraged those interested in picking up a stick to head out to their come and try day on March 6 at Landrigan Park from 5.30pm.
The four-week program will culminate in a family fun gala day on April 2.
Players or potential players are welcome and encouraged to come to training on Tuesday nights from 5pm for juniors and 6pm for seniors if they can't attend the come and try days and gala day.
