Construction of the expanded Port Macquarie Indoor Stadium commenced in December 2015, with construction now complete and the stadium open to a broad range of sporting user groups.
The original stadium which was built in 1982, and with the expansion works the community now have access to modern, comfortable and accessible facilities that cater to the growing sporting community.
The expansion includes the addition of three multi-purpose courts increasing the number of courts to six, new multi-purpose activity rooms, offices, amenities, a kiosk and parking facilities.
The improvements will benefit both existing user groups and the wider community, and assist in promoting our region as a sporting centre of excellence and destination of choice.
Council has been working with key stakeholders and the local community since 2012 to develop a concept that meets the needs of the Port Macquarie-Hastings region, and this extensive consultation has ensured the delivery of a world-class regional facility with the capacity to showcase local, state and national talent across a variety of sports.
Works were joint-funded by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and the Federal Government.
