They have short coats of various colours and different temperaments.
As a working breed, these pups are not suited to being left alone in the backyard and will need daily exercise to keep them well socialised and healthy.
They will grow into medium sized dogs and will need room to run around in a well fenced yard.
If you already have a dog please bring it in to meet the pup before you take it home.
They are desexed, micro-chipped, vet checked, vaccinated, flea treated, wormed and will cost $350 each to adopt.
Pets up for adoption are housed at the RSPCA shelter, 10 Karungi Crescent, which is open six days a week, from 10am until 3.30pm, and is closed on Tuesdays and public holidays. Telephone number is 6581 0380.
All RSPCA animals can be viewed at www.adoptapet.com.au Just click on the shelter search box and drop down to the Port Macquarie site.
RSPCA NSW offers these tips to help cool down pets:
Extra bowls of water in case one is accidentally tipped over; takeaway containers filled with beef/chicken stock, frozen overnight for outdoor animals; ice cubes in water bowls provided they doesn’t spook the animal; freeze half a water bowl overnight and top the remainder up with cool water; provide extra shade using shade cloths and outdoor umbrellas; paddling pools filled with water under your supervision.
NEVER leave dogs in cars, even with the windows down - death can occur within six minutes; walk your dog in the early morning or late evening; spray pet birds with a mist pump spray bottle (only if they like it!) or install a bird bath for supervised use; cool a ceramic tile or oven pan in the fridge or freezer and put it out for small dogs and cats to lie on; for pocket pets, little bags of ice wrapped in small, wet towels provide heat relief; allow your outdoor animals to come inside the house and share the air conditioning or electric fan.
