A singer-songwriter, the 16 year old recently excelled at Tamworth’s Country Music Festival.
He is already known in Port Macquarie circles for his amazing voice, having sang on Anzac Day when the Governor General of NSW visited for the commemorative service.
He also performed on stage before the annual lighting of the Christmas tree at Town Green.
Visiting Tamworth for a week, he tasted success on his very first day bread busking on Peel Street, where he won busker of the day.
It was just the start of a massive list of accomplishments for the year 11 student.
He also won the Mount Franklin talent quest, the Capitol Country Music Association male vocal category, the Coca-Cola country best youngster in Tamworth and performed three times on the Peel Street stage and once on the ABC stage.
It does not end there. Aussie country music star Kasey Chambers mentioned Blake on her Instagram about “how great he sounds”, and he opened shows for country singer Kiara Rodrigues and the Bowden Brothers.
If that is not enough to convince you of his outstanding gift, he sang on the Toyota main stage for the closing of the festival and performed with the Adam Eckersley Band at the Albert Hotel.
He was so impressive that Eckersley has invited him to do some record with him, as has Australian Idol winner Damien Leith.
It is arguably his biggest set of achievements, and another massive step towards his goal of becoming a recording artist.
“I had no expectations at all when I went to Tamworth, but I ended up performing on the big stage in front of a couple of thousand people, which was awesome,” he said.
“I won some pretty awesome prizes but the experience was amazing.”
He said his next step is to continue making a name for himself by performing at gigs.
“I want to go to the Gympy Music Festival as well,” he said.
“All I can do is keep trying to climb the ladder, be recording artist and to sell out places, so hopefully I can get there one day.”
Blake wanted to give a shout out to local business ‘Pretty Rad’ who has sponsored and supported Blake during his endeavours.
His school, Hastings Secondary College Port Macquarie campus has also been very supportive of him.
