By night, he is the one calling the shots at Port Pirates as their reserve grade coach for 2017.
Foe moved to Port Macquarie after having the job at the resort offered to him while he was previously in Samoa.
“The general manager was here (at Sails) at the time and he knows me and we have worked together before,” he said.
“I’ve done a lot of new resorts and hotels and this is probably the smallest one I’ve done with 92 rooms.”
After the success of Pirates in 2016, Foe said he enjoyed taking on new projects and new challenges.
“I use rugby as a hobby because it keeps me fit and it keeps me amongst the boys,” he said.
“Then you come to work and wear your work hat. You have to have two different hats because it keeps you going.
Foe said he used his everyday job role as part of a “mental exercise”.
“It’s because it is a different form to what you do everyday,” he said.
After growing up and spending time in New Zealand and Samoa, Foe understands the game of rugby and is hopeful of bringing some international knowledge to the Pirates.
“Rugby is what I grew up with and you’re never going to leave rugby because it’s always part of your life,” he said.

The long-standing history of Pirates in Port Macquarie is one of the positive aspects about the club which drew Foe to them.
“Pirates is probably the eldest club in Port Macquarie and the Vikings were part of Pirates before they split and formed their own club,” he said.
“But that’s a good thing for the players because we can actually now have a challenge instead of just one club. It’s healthy; competition is always healthy.”
Despite only being the new face in town, Foe has already set the bar high.
“I’m hoping to achieve the championship at the end of the year; I don’t have any doubt we can make it there,” he said.
“I want to bring a bit of family unity, a bit more fun and share my experience with the young boys and share some international skills as well.”
Foe also wants his younger players to “buy in” to what he is trying to achieve.

“We can only tell the boys what we know and what we’ve been trained for,” he said.
“We share that with the young boys and hopefully they take that on board and take it into the game.”
Pirates have one of the best people involved with the club to celebrate in style should they have a successful season.
“It would be nice to cook up some nice seafood for our celebration at the end of the year,” Foe said.
