Chris Cole’s 79 was the cornerstone of Hastings’ total of 165 which captain Josh Hyde felt was well below par.
But an impressive performance with the ball ensured Manning were bowled out for 140 in the 34th over.
“I thought 200 to 220 would have been about par because that’s what we scored last year when we won it,” Hyde said.
“But it was good to see Coley bat for a long period of time because that’s not something he’s used to.”
Cole (2-7) also chipped in with some valuable wickets.
The win was even more impressive after Hastings quartet Jeremy Cowin, Ryan McMahon, Ethan Hyde and Brendan Badenoch all withdraw before the game.
In their place, Paul Stait (2-30) and Nick Bartlett (1-38) stepped up with ball in hand.
“It was good to see some of the boys who stepped up play a role,” Hyde said.
