“I’m very excited about it. We all sing two songs. The crowd will be up to 10,000 people. You look out and it’s a sea of faces,” the 18-year-old said.
But the huge crowds don’t put him off.
“I just love it. It’s so much energy to draw up.”
Angus will sing two of his own songs.
“One is an upbeat song called Roadworks and the other one is a ballad called Before We Say Goodbye. They are songs that mean a heap to me, because they’re songs I’ve written and had a personal connection with,” he said.
The winner will get a new Toyota vehicle, an unlimited fuel card for 12 months, plus guaranteed performances at major festivals and events throughout Australia.
For the young country singer, Tamworth is always a great experience.
“It’s just a fantastic all-round family experience. It’s great to get out there and meet new fans and catch up with people.
“It’s a different festival to the others, because it’s all around the town, with about 800 acts, and there are talent quests and buskers, so tons and tons of musicians and venues.”
So, Wauchope people will have their fingers crossed for Angus on Sunday, January 22, and you can follow the competition live by going to the website: http://www.tcmf.com.au/
