Pirates captain Jeremy Cowin won the toss and elected to bat first, but his side struggled throughout the innings, eventually being dismissed for 77.
It could have been worse, but after Bonnies’ slow over-rate, Pirates had a bonus 12 runs added for the two overs they didn’t receive in the allotted time.
The evergreen Peter Morris was the best of the Bonny Hills bowlers, taking 4-19 off four overs.
He had support from Alex Amos (2-13 off four) and Adam Morris (2-14 off four).
Nick Bartlett (2-17) was the best of the Pirates bowlers as Bonnies cruised to victory in the 13th over.
After the early departures of Daniel Pretty (7) and Peter Morris (2), Bonny Hills were rarely troubled as Amos (29 not out) and Phil Crouch (31 not out) steered the side to victory.
Pirates captain Jeremy Cowin said it was a disappointing performance, but he was impressed with Bartlett.
“Nick bowled with a bit of pace which you could see worried their batsmen a bit.
Pirates defended 100 last week, but couldn’t do it again seven days later.
“You’ve always got to hope, but I thought the pitch was better than the week before; it was pretty flat,” Cowin said.
“But we put too much pressure on our bowlers.
“You can’t only score 90 runs and expect the bowlers to do the job all the time.”
