It happened at around 5am this morning (January 19).
Marine Rescue Port Macquarie responded to a mayday call from the yacht. The conditions were rough, according to media liaison officer Geoff Shelton.
“The rescue went well. We responded quickly as it was initially a mayday call,” Mr Shelton said.
“Conditions were rough where the yacht was, but we managed to tow them back to the Marina where one person was taken to hospital by an ambulance.
“The rescue, in total, took about 3 and a half hours.”
