Strike action: Workers on the Pacific Highway upgrade between Kempsey and Kundabung have voted to take strike action.

Employees of a company working on the Pacific Highway upgrade between Kempsey and Kundabung have unanimously voted to strike in an attempt to  secure better wages and working conditions.

CFMEU North Coast Union official Dean Rielly said the vote by about 50 Telum QLD Labour Hire employees was held at a meeting on January 11.

“These sort of wage conditions are appalling considering this is a State Government job,” he said.

There will now be a meeting Monday to decide the exact date of the strike.
