With the smell of fresh tar in the air, local media, council and state government representatives donned the necessary protective equipment for a sneak preview of the almost completed bridge ahead of the community walk-over celebration on Saturday.
Mrs Williams encouraged residents to attend a community celebration day on Saturday from 10am – noon to mark the opening of the bridge to first traffic.
The community will be able to walk over the bridge and enjoy activities, food and refreshments before the bridge opens to traffic after 12pm.
