Justin Eggert, Hamish Leslie, Jack Mills and Lachlan Walker have been named in the squad.
The girls haven’t been left behind, with Lauren Beasley, Jennifer Cooper, Kearyn Eastwell and Paris Reid also being selected in the program.
The program has been specifically designed to assist athletes and umpires progress to the next level within the talent pathway by supporting them with technical skill development, game sense training, fitness testing and theoretical knowledge.
AFL NSW/ACT regional manager, Simon Smyth, is excited by the partnership.
“This is another landmark moment for our sport within the north coast region,” he said.
“In the past twelve months we’ve had both club and team growth, huge levels of local media coverage and public support, as well as new sponsors coming on board to grow the game.
“Partnering with the academy is a critically important step in enhancing our talent pathway for boys, girls and umpires.
“North Coast Academy of Sport continues to play a vital role in providing local athletes with the support needed to make it to the elite level and we look forward to working with them to unearth future AFL stars.”
