In a day where the temperature soared towards the 40s, the Hastings boys were set a mammoth 386 to win.
They fell well short and were bundled out for 104.
Captain Daniel Duckworth said it was “just one of those days” for his side.
Gloucester started their innings slowly and after 20 overs had only scored 50 runs before the they started to tee off.
“It was a display of ruthless hitting,” Duckworth said.
“Jason Swain and Pete Morris bowled the first 20 overs between them and gave nothing away.”
In reply, Morris was dismissed off the first ball before Dom Ashe contributed about 20.
Duckworth said the pitch had a bit in it early, but once the sun came out “it turned into a road.”
The Thunder are back in action at Oxley Oval on December 18.
