An intense storm cell lashed the Hastings on Monday, December 5 bringing down trees, flooding streets, dumping hail and taking out power to 14,000 residents across the Mid North Coast.

A shelf cloud rolled quickly across the coast at about 6pm and with it came severe lightning and squally winds.
Streets in Port Macquarie were quickly inundated while residents to the south at Lorne reported hail and a 35mm dump of rain in as many minutes.

Crews will continue to respond and make repairs where possible to affected regions across the Mid North Coast.
As of 8.30pm, 10,200 customers on the Mid North Coast remained without power.

Bonny Hills/Lake Cathie: 2978 residents
- Lake Innes to Houston Mitchell Drive: 230 residents
- Major Innes Rd to Willandra Avenue, Port Macquarie: 24 residents
- Ocean Drive from Hindman Street and encompassing all homes within the boundaries of Hollingworth Street, Buller Street to Settlement City, Ashton Street, Hastings River Drive, and Boronia Street: 936 residents
- Telegraph Point/Rollands plains – 362 customers
- Byabarra/Yarras – 343 customers
- Kings Creek – 230 customers
- Kendall – 173 customers
- Comboyne – 41 customers
- Cairncross – 24 customers
- Willawarrin – 18 customers
- Sandy Creek – 14 customers
