Even though they are the 10th and final team to join the competition in 2017, first grade coach Terry Burn believes that is a couple of teams too many.
“I think the Premier League level has definitely dropped and it’s not the same level it was four or five years ago,” he said.
Burn said it wasn’t anyone’s fault, it was a result of players moving on from the competition.
“I think a 10-team competition is an unrealistic prospect for this area,” he said.
“It’s good for us, but it really should be, at best, eight teams or maybe even six.”
Burn witnessed the 2016 grand final between Camden Haven and Wallis Lake and was filled with confidence about what his team could do.
“No disrespect to the teams that played in the grand final, but they didn’t play structured football,” he said.
