Technology types: Some 1900 homes on the outskirts of Port Macquarie can access the National Broadband Network through the fixed wireless service. Data is sent from a transmission tower, such as the one pictured, and travels wirelessly to an antenna fitted by the roof. The Port Macquarie roll-out will use fixed line fibre to the node technology.
