About 300 people attended the Red & Blue Ball on October 14 at Panthers Port Macquarie to raise money for life-saving defibrillators.
The Student Heart Project’s Daniel Steinbeck said the night raised just over $5000, and the total came to $10,000 with the addition of two donated defibrillators.
Mr Steinbeck said there had been good feedback from the ball.
“Everyone had a really good time and the dance floor had 150 people on it,” he said.
“It was just packed.”
Supporters donned their formal wear with a touch of red and blue, and dug deep for the cause.
Businesses supported the event with donations.
Mr Steinbeck said the community support was overwhelming.
“I think it just shows the community is really behind it [Student Heart Project] now,” he said.
The Student Heart Project has earmarked part of the money raised for another defibrillator on Lord Howe Island.
Expressions of interest are also expected to be called before the end of the year.
The ball was a Student Heart Project major fundraiser in support of defibrillators in the community.
