The gift fair will feature almost 50 stalls with stallholders travelling from as far as the Gold Coast, Tweed Heads, Grafton, Newcastle, Sydney and Canberra.
Christmas Gift Fair organiser and Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse Fundraising Committee member Ruth Durrant said the gift fair would be a convenient place to shop for Christmas.
“It is all in the one room and you can certainly shop for anyone,” she said.
“By attending the Christmas fair, you are beating the Christmas rush and supporting locals in the Hastings.”
The gift fair, which has been 12 months in the planning process, is just the place to stock up on Christmas presents and items to go on the Christmas table.
Stallholders will be selling everything from handmade dolls to jewellery, specialised notebooks, handmade chocolates and decorated fruit cakes.
Profits from the gift fair go to Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse. The gift fair is an annual event.
Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse director Rob Moorehead said the clubhouse currently received no state or federal grant funding, so fundraising played a huge part in keeping Endeavour’s doors open.
“The gift fair helps generate much-needed operating capital for Endeavour and the support given by the community is most appreciated by myself and our members,” Mr Moorehead said.
Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse provides support resources and vocational rehabilitation for people recovering from mental illness.
Endeavour Clubhouse will have a stall at the fair too.
Members have made wooden Christmas trees to sell at the fair and orders will be taken.
The Christmas Gift Fair is at Panthers Port Macquarie on October 29 and 30.
The doors open from 10am to 4pm on October 29 and 10am to 3pm on October 30.
Entry is $3 for adults and $2 for secondary students.
Entry is free for children under 12.
Entertainment will include Sing Australia, Let’s Dance Rock & Roll, U3A Folk Dancers and the Hastings Koalas Orchestra.
