It follows the state government’s announcement of almost $6 million to the council for the three schemes.
The council’s general manager, Craig Swift-McNair, has delegated authority to accept the funding offer.
The state government in late September announced $2.5 million to upgrade the Comboyne sewerage system, $1.17 million to the Long Flat sewerage scheme and $2.32 million towards the Telegraph Point sewerage scheme.
Cr Justin Levido said the funding was great news and something the council had been waiting on.
He said Beechwood and North Shore were connected to the sewer in the last term of council and it would be great if the council could sewer Long Flat, Telegraph Point and Comboyne in this council term.
Cr Levido said the council had to move to the step of going to tender to get accurate project budget figures.
“That will then put us in a very clear position moving forward,” he said.
Port Macquarie-Hastings mayor Peter Besseling said it was going to be a very happy day for the three villages having seen the council motion passed.
The council plans to formalise project budgets after receipt and consideration of tender bids.
It is expected the tender advertising period will occur in early 2017.
Design and construction drawings are complete for all schemes.
The fully reticulated sewerage systems will provide an efficient disposal method, which will protect the environment and the health of the community.
The council would need to make a major contribution to the construction work on top of the state government funding.
Long Flat, Telegraph Point and Comboyne residents were advised in May that the council was committed to completing the schemes but would not go to tender until the result was known of funding subsidy applications.
