The Wauchope Rotary Club held a very successful Pride of Workmanship Awards Dinner at the Wauchope RSL on Tuesday October 18.
70 people were at the presentation dinner, and most of the 21 award-winners had their employer as well as family and friends present, to recognise their efforts.
Special guest speaker was Tanya Simmons, Director of IT, Human Resources & Marketing at Bennetts Steel in Wauchope.
Tanya spoke about the importance of customer service for business success and echoed a theme of the awards, “Do it once, do it well.”
And Tanya presented each nominee with their Pride of Workmanship certificate.
The awards recognise quality commitment in the workplace.
They aim to encourage and foster pride in work performance and in so doing, encourage a national pride in workmanship for the benefit of Australia.
The winners are people who, in their employers’ eyes, show a distinct quality in their approach, attitude and dedication to their job.
President of the Rotary Club of Wauchope Kathryn Stephens congratulated the nominees for taking pride in how they conduct their day-to-day work with a sense of responsibility to do a job well.
“It is because of this attitude that you are a great asset to our community. These awards are to thank you for all that you do, not only for your employer, but also the community in which you serve,” she added.
Each winner received a certificate with a citation prepared by their employer in support of the award.
Ellissa Nolan responded on behalf of the awardees, congratulating all on their nominations and recognition.
And she thanked the Wauchope Rotary Club for organising the project, which gives employers the chance to say a special thank you to valued employees.
