The event is on Sunday October 23, with proceeds to go to the Beechwood Sporting Grounds.
The Classic will start at 9am with Pappinbarra Road closed from 11am to 12.30pm, from Beechwood Hall all the way up to Pappinbarra Mountain.
Of course, the ever-popular kids race will be on after the main race down the mountain.
Anyone who may have objections is asked to please contact event organiser James Wallis on 0428 851 334.
As well as the regular kids billy cart race (15 years and under) and the main race, Mr Wallis said they are also trialling some other events.
“We’re trying mud crab racing this year, where they get raffled off and whoever has the winning ticket wins a prize,” he said.
“We’re looking forward to another great family fun day and hope to see a lot of people out to support the event.”
One of the racers at the event is Wauchope local Russell Evans.
In the first year he and his partner came second, in the second year they made it just one kilometre before blowing a tyre.
When the tyre blew as they screamed down the hill, with the carts capable of reaching upwards of 100 kilometres, it could have ended much worse.
But the setback did not deter Russell, and he and partner Mick finished third in 2015.
He says he hopes to place up the top of the field again.
“We haven’t done much to the billycart at all. We’ve done absolutely no training,” he said.
“It’s been a year since I’ve hopped in it and I’m looking forward to it.”
Mr Evans said he loves supporting the community event and his kids also compete in the kids cart race.
