This special event is a fundraising initiative of the Breast Cancer Institute of Australia (BCIA) and for 20 years, has helped to fund research that is saving lives from breast cancer.
In 2016, Port Macquarie Golf Club, along with over 200 golf clubs across Australia, will show their commitment to this important research by holding a Tee Off event.
These wonderful events have raised over $1.76 million for breast cancer clinical trial research since their inception in 1997.
President Elizabeth Fraser said the club and its members are proud to be involved in the event.
“We have many ladies in the club who are survivors of Breast Cancer and realise its importance of having a breast cancer check every two years,” she said.
BCIA’s community fundraising officer Kirsten Lyndon said the commitment and support of Port Macquarie Golf Club and its members is greatly appreciated.
“Our clinical trials research program identifies new treatments and treatment strategies for women diagnosed with breast cancer,” Lyndon said.
“We are thrilled to have the support of Port Macquarie Golf Club as part of our 20 year tee off celebrations.
“I encourage the community to get behind their fundraising efforts to help those we know and love who are effected by breast cancer.”
