After a standout performance at the State Challenge in Campbelltown in October, Faux was selected in the combined ACT/NSW Country team for the national titles.
They will be held in Canberra from January 18-24.
It is yet another addition to an impressive CV which includes appearances for North Coast and Sydney Sixers development sides.
The quietly-spoken teenager said it was a surprise to read her name alongside the best cricketers from country New South Wales.
“I was hopeful, but didn’t really expect it,” she said.
Faux attributes hours of practice for her cricketing prowess.
She admitted she was more at home with bat in hand, but she could roll the arm over for a few overs with the ball.
“I train probably three or four days a week in total,” she said.
Faux was looking forward to the experience, but knows she will be tested.
“The biggest challenge for me is going to be facing all the different sorts of bowlers,” she said.
The week-long tournament in the national capital will see each state represented.
“Hopefully I can perform well and put my name out there for years to come,” she said.
Recently Faux made her third-grade debut for the Port City Leagues Magpies Swoopers.
Father, Jamie, said playing with the boys of a weekend helped his daughter improve to the level she is at currently.
“There’s a couple of boys who bowl really quick at that age,” he said.
“But playing at that higher level where the boys mature a bit quicker definitely helps her.”
