The October 12 walk for mental health signified bridging the gap and moving from stigma to understanding.
Walkers showed support for the one in five Australians who experience a mental illness.
Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse director Rob Moorehead said people struggling with mental illness tended not to get enough exercise.
He encouraged people to walk for mental health as endorphins stimulated through exercise were good for everybody.
“You can walk with friends, peers, family,” Mr Moorehead said.
Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse is a place of hope and opportunities for people with mental illness.
Diploma of Community Services student April Crutcher said the walk raised awareness.
“We want to break down barriers and cut the stigma out,” she said.
