The project will be undertaken by authorised contractors and involves replacing power poles, upgrading lines and carrying out general maintenance tasks along five kilometres of powerlines on Upper Rollands Plains Road.
Regional manager North Coast, Brendon Neyland, said the work, once complete, would strengthen the electricity network and secure a more reliable power supply to the area.
“We are committed to ensuring the network is meeting the needs of all our customers and this upgrade is one example of how we’re working to achieve this,” Mr Neyland said.
Due to the nature of the work a number of planned power outages will be necessary to allow the project to be completed safely.
Affected customers will be notified. A number of handy tips are available on the Essential Energy website to help customers prepare for planned power outages.
