Oxley MP Melinda Pavey and a senior RMS representative attended a Mt Seaview meeting to discuss speed limit changes on the Oxley Highway.
About 16 people – including business representatives – also attended along with community members and road users.
The meeting considered and discussed the proposed speed zone changes, and the RMS representative addressed the meeting.
Ms Pavey said the RMS representative offered and agreed to ‘press the pause button’ to allow time for further consideration of all the issues that have been raised - both at the meeting itself and in the recent community commentary.
A spokesperson said Roads and Maritime Services attended a meeting with community members about speed changes along the Oxley Highway, listened to the communities concerns and will undertake further investigations into the proposed speed limit reductions.
Ms Pavey described the meeting as very civil and professional.
“I congratulate all for both making the time to attend and contributing their views in a constructive and productive manner as we work through this matter,” she said.
