North Coast Community Events Inc will stage the two-day fundraising air show at Kempsey Airport on the October long weekend to raise funds for non-profit/charitable entities in the Macleay Valley.
The air show will involve flying demonstrations of historic and modern aircraft as well as a range of static displays including a Caribou from HARS and other privately owned aircraft.
Members of the public will be able to get up close to some of the exhibited aircraft. Then at 11.30am the flying program will start with up to three hours of jaw dropping aerobatics by Paul Bennet Air Shows, the Russian Roolettes and more. This will take place on both days.
A family atmosphere will be generated at and around the airport precinct with the participation of food and drink concessions, allied displays and activities as well as entertainment for children including a paper aeroplane competition etc.
Visitors are likely to be attracted to Wings over Macleay from the Sydney, Newcastle and New England areas as well as from nearby centres such as Taree, Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour. The air show will be promoted in all of those areas.
