Papadatos won the event in 2014 and despite a run of poor form he believes he can perform well at a course which always receives plaudits from players.
“It’s always nice to come back to Port Macquarie,” he said.

“It’s a really good course and there’s plenty of nice people so it’s always a pleasure to play the Pro Am there.”
Papadatos will be challenged by Steve Jeffress, David Bransdon and Brad McIntosh.
Jeffress, who recently won the Riversdale Pro Am, is one of a number of entrants who learnt his golf in Port Macquarie while Bransdon grew up in Wauchope.
“There are a few good players that have come down from Queensland,” Papadatos said.
“Chris Wood is in a bit of form, Dave Branson is one of the local heroes who will be tough to beat and there’s a lot of players making the trip from New Caledonia as well.”
A full field of 80 professionals will fight it out.
“It’s a well-run event which fits in well with the schedule before the Aussie summer starts,” Papadatos said.
“A lot of the boys come and play the event to sharpen up their skills before the Aussie tournaments kick off.
“We’ve got Fiji coming up next week so it’s a good warm-up going into the bigger events.”
The 25-year-old was hopeful he could turn around his recent form although he was sitting in fourth spot at the Wauchope Pro Am when they headed into the final day on Sunday.
He spent the last four and a half months over in Europe playing in a European tour and a challenge tour.
“I’ve had a couple of okay results, but most of it’s been average this year,” he said.
“But I’m trying to work on it and have a big finish to the end of the year.
“It would be good to get a bit of momentum and confidence going into Fiji.”
