Football Mid North Coast’s under 12 girls side started their campaign well on Saturday, registering a win and a draw from their two games.
They started off with a scoreless draw against Far North Coast before a Kiana Osmond-Dreyer double secured a 2-0 win over Macquarie Football.
Technical director Larry Budgen said the under 12 team had only been playing together for 10 weeks.
“Their style of play is more important for us than results, but they played really well on day one,” he said.
“They were dominant in the 0-all draw and were in control of the second game.”
Saffron Grass, Tahlia Power and Mia Bales were strong for the local girls.

“They’ve all come a long way and Mick Grass has done an outstanding job with them,” Budgen said.
“They all have their roles.”
The under 14 girls won their first four games with Mona Walker, Kayley Roberts, Jess Henwood and Nelly Barnett all standing out.
Budgen said the success of the under 14s wasn’t a surprise.
“We knew we had a really good group of girls,” he said.
