Over 220 of Northern NSW’s best young female footballers will come together in Coffs Harbour this weekend for the annual Telstra State Championships for girls.

Northern NSW Football (NNSWF) seven member zones and Herald Women’s Premier League (WPL) club’s will contest the Telstra State Championships for Girls in both the 12 and 14 Years divisions.
In addition to Football Mid North Coast other Northern NSW Football Zones will include; Newcastle Football, Macquarie Football, Hunter Valley Football, Northern Inland, North Coast Football and Football Far North Coast; as well as the Herald WPL clubs include, Adamstown Rosebud Junior Football Club, Warners Bay Football Club and South Wallsend Junior Football Club.
The Telstra State Championship for Girls is one of multiple of NNSWF’s major tournaments to be conducted at Coffs Harbour International Stadium this year.
NNSWF will also host the FFA National Youth Championships for Boys in October and has previously hosted, Telstra State Championships for Boys in June and the Westfield National Youth Championships for Girls in July.
“Northern NSW Football is proud to host the Telstra State Championships for Girls which will showcase the finest young female footballers from around Northern NSW,” NNSWF Chief Executive Officer, David Eland said.
“This weekend will provide the Mid North Coast’s talented female footballers the opportunity to test themselves against fellow Northern NSW players.”
“The Championships are a critical tool used to measure the talent from within our Member Zones and provide a valuable opportunity for our Technical Panel to identify talented players who possess the ability to progress to the next level in their playing career,” Eland concluded.
The first matches commence at 8.30am on Saturday September 24, with both 12 and 14 Years Girls matches played simultaneously on two separate fields – Field 1 hosting the 12 Years Girls and Field 2 hosting the 14 Years Girls.
Football Mid North Coast kicks off their campaign for 12 Years at 11:15am facing Far North Coast, while the 14 Years squad will meet North Coast at 8:30am.
