This year’s special event temporarily takes the place of the usual village fair which has been run for over 25 years by the Comboyne Hall. The Hall’s “Christmas in July” this year proved so successful, the committee has enabled Comboyne A & H Association to run the Spring Spectacular 2016.
The unique new Showground Billabong building (so popular for weddings) will be filled with fabulous flowers arranged by local award-winning floral artists.
With an eclectic range of live music throughout the day, there is a full Art Exhibition with artists from near and far, doing demonstrations. You can vote for the “People’s Choice”, or maybe win one in a raffle.
Midcoast Mower Racing Club are returning to the centre arena of the Showground with their popular and entertaining purpose built race machines – exciting concept.
Local historic Machinery Club members will display and operate some beautifully restored machinery to provide a glimpse of a past era, and delight the enthusiasts.
The 8th Annual Comboyne Car Club Capers, sponsored by Shannons, sees many rare and beautiful vehicles (from Vintage to Hot Rods) from 20 invited local Car and Bike Clubs – not just on display, but actually participating in crowd-pleasing events like Blind Man’s Rally, In the Fashion and Please explain?. The 3-wheeled Reliant from the UK and Stuart Watson’s new electric Nissan Leaf will be there too.
Comboyne Country Cooking, Coffee and hospitality is well-known, and there will be all the fun of the fair with Whip-cracking demonstrations (you can have a go), Spinners and Weavers, working Artist Blacksmith, Taree Rural Fire Brigade (huge hose fun), fairground rides and Market Stalls to add to the fun.
Animal enthusiasts will enjoy the Dog Obedience demonstration, a large Poultry Show, dairy calves and local farm animals, Rodney’s bullock “Starlight”, Clydesdale Horses and Animal Rescue puppies.
