It was all a part of their journey up the East Coast of Australia.
Beginning in Hobart, the ‘Posties for Prostate’ group have completed more than half of their 4,700km trip to Cairns on postie bikes.
By stopping and engaging with the local communities along the way, the Posties for Prostate Group hope to raise much needed funds and awareness about men’s health issues.
The Jim Bruce Urology and Prostate Cancer Trust alongside Port Macquarie Rotary Group welcomed the group last Friday, August 26, at Port Macquarie’s Town Beach.
The shocking fact is that one in five men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, but with regular health check-ups, early detection can be increased
The men are not only raising awareness, but also vital funds for Australian prostate Cancer Research (APCR) and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
Mayor Peter Besseling presented the men with a cheque for $1,000 on behalf of Birdon Marine to go towards their fundraising.
