Mr Kenny was involved in a motorbike accident on July 30 at Grassy Head which caused multiple broken bones and the need for an induced coma.
The young father of three was riding with work colleagues when the accident occurred.
He was quickly rushed to hospital then flown to Coffs Harbour by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
He suffered multiple breaks to his legs, collarbone and left wrist. Doctors decided to induce a coma and spent the next days conducting seven operations on Mr Kenny.
His best mate and brother-in-law, Joshua Salter, organised a fundraiser with Oxley Motorcycles that took place on the weekend (August 28).
The effort raised almost $3,000 for the family and was supported by more than 150 motorcycle riders.
Riders started at the Port Macquarie Service Centre, headed to the Kew Pub, and finally the Telegraph Point Riverview Tavern.
Mr Salter said the support was unbelievable.
“It was an awesome day. We capped it at 148 riders when we left Kew and when we got to the Riverview Tavern more bikes showed up,” he said.
“The generosity of everyone has been very overwhelming. Just the turn out itself was very overwhelming.”
During the end-of-day speeches, it was one little girl who got the emotions flowing.
Mr Kenny’s eldest daughter, Hannah, spoke to the crowd and brought everyone to ears.
“It was a very touching moment,” Mr Salter said.
“When Hannah stood up and thanked everyone for helping her daddy - that was a special moment.”
Jason, the man who kept Mr Kenny alive immediately after the accident, also spoke and gave a recount of what happened.
“He let everyone know what happened when Josh had his accident, which really put everything into perspective and why we were all there,” Mr Salter said.
Mr Kenny is now at home for six weeks, before going into rehab at Wauchope where he will hopefully be able to walk again.
“On behalf of myself and the family we want to thank everyone for their donations and for supporting us on the day,” Mr Salter said.
